Cat 5 Installation & Repair

Cat 5 and Cat 5e cabling remains in use throughout many East Tennessee homes and businesses and continues to support 100Mbps to 1Gbps network speeds in many applications. RCC Electric installs new Cat 5e cabling and repairs existing Cat 5 infrastructure throughout the region.

For new installations, we generally recommend upgrading to Cat 6, it offers better performance and future-proofs your investment at minimal additional cost. But for additions to existing Cat 5 networks, or for applications where Cat 5e is sufficient, we work with whatever infrastructure makes sense for your situation.

We diagnose and repair Cat 5 cabling issues including damaged runs, failed connections, and incorrectly terminated cables. Many network problems that appear to be equipment failures are actually caused by cable faults that we can quickly diagnose and correct.
