Hot Tub Wiring
Hot tub and spa electrical wiring for homes and vacation properties throughout East Tennessee, 240V GFCI-protected circuits installed safely and to code.
Hot tub installation requires a dedicated 240V circuit with a GFCI-protected disconnect within sight of the spa, it's one of the most specific electrical requirements in the NEC, and it exists for good reason. RCC Electric installs hot tub and spa electrical throughout East Tennessee, from primary residences to vacation cabins and lake properties.
Hot tub wiring typically requires a 50-amp or 60-amp, 240V circuit run from your electrical panel to a weatherproof disconnect box mounted within sight of the tub location, then continuing to the spa pack. The circuit must be GFCI-protected (either at the panel or within the disconnect) and all wiring in wet areas must be installed in liquid-tight conduit.
Most hot tub installations are completed in 2 to 4 hours. If your panel doesn't have available capacity for a 50-amp circuit, we'll discuss your options, including a panel upgrade or load management, before starting work.
